Summer Program Curriculum

The Boys & Girls Club summer program will combine enriching learning opportunities, educational field trips – and, of course, plenty of summer fun! We have a diverse curriculum targeted for each age level, from Kindergarten through 12th grade. Programs include hands-on Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM) activities, high-yield learning opportunities, character development programs, daily physical fitness, and recreational field trips (swimming, skating, bowling, movies, etc.). Older youth also receive programming that helps prepare them for careers and future success, such as financial literacy classes, resume writing, mock interview preparation, college/career coaching, and more. We utilize partnerships with a wide range of local businesses to enhance program offerings– for instance, engineers from General Motors and the TN Environmental Council conduct an exciting annual hands-on creek sampling and water testing activity with our youth. All of our programs are designed to help prevent summer learning loss by keeping youth engaged in fun, educational and enriching activities during the summer.

Regarding meals for the summer, the Club is still working on a partnership to provide breakfast, lunch, and snacks each day. Final details will be shared as soon as possible.

If you have any additional questions about the summer 2016 programs, you may call 931-490-9401 ext. 2606, or visit any of the locations listed above between May 16 and 20 to speak with someone in person.
