The full-time Area Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Area Director in overseeing daily planning, implementation, and evaluation of specific programs for youth between the ages of 5 and 18 within a designated area of Club sites. Area Coordinators support our three priority outcome areas of Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, and Good Character and Leadership. The Area Coordinator provides leadership and supervision to assigned program and volunteer staff.
To further its efforts of supporting youth programs across the local community, Associates from Mars Petcare piloted their virtual program on responsible pet ownership with students from the Boys & Girls Club Teen Center. The program taught Club members about pet behaviors and how to interact safely with pets by recognizing their moods. Through the partnership, Mars Petcare will host additional sessions for Club members including financial literacy and career days.
Despite reduced capacity due to COVID-19 and social distancing practices, you still made it possible for us to serve more than 1,000 kids and their families in 2020. You gave the gift of healthy meals, a safe place to go, and peace of mind for parents returning to work.
When Kani first started coming to our Pulaski Club in 2018, he struggled with his behavior. Because you believed in Kani, his behavior has improved by leaps and bounds since he first started at the Club. “Kani has matured more, and he listens more,” says Kani’s mom Kreshia. “He is making positive choices.”
We are excited to now offer Club programming during the school day for virtual and remote learners! This program is available to grades 1st-5th at our Wayne Street Unit (209 Wayne St) and grades 6-12th at our Teen Center (210 W 8th St). Read more to find out how you can sign up.
Boys & Girls Clubs of Maury County has announced that it is changing the name of the organization to more accurately reflect its entire geographic service area of Maury and Giles Counties, and to position the Club for additional growth opportunities in the future. Boys & Girls Clubs of Maury County will begin doing business as Boys & Girls Clubs of South Central Tennessee.

The Club recently unveiled its newly renovated Gamesroom within its Teen Center in Downtown Columbia. The updated space was sponsored by First Farmers and Merchants Bank and Farm Bureau Health Plans.
